Leaving his parents back
without any commotion,
But with much of emotion.
When the whole country is
in need of secularism,
His only brother in arm
is patriotism.
When every one of us
need a cozy apartment,
All he has is an army
basement.
He got engaged,
When his platoon got
rampaged.
When he got married,
He heard that his friend
was buried.
His child’s birth date
was fixed,
But, only the sight of Siachen got him transfixed.
His daughter became old,
But he still stands
guard in cold.
When they expected to
see him badged,
They got him flag
shrouded.
All were in proud tears
except one,
Because she couldn’t recognize
the face she saw only in the photos.
